Congratulations to Alecia Cheung! 🎉
Alecia has proudly represented Australia in the final round of the Asia Students Arts Festival, where she was awarded First Runner-Up in the Pop Music (8–9 years old) category.
In the final round, Alecia performed To Zanarkand from Final Fantasy X written by Nobuo Uematsu, delivering a poised and expressive performance. Earlier, in the Australia round, she played A Time for Us from Romeo and Juliet, which qualified her for the international final.
The Asia Students Arts Festival is conducted under a blind judging system. All contestants are assessed by judges who have no information about the students’ teachers, music schools, socio-economic background, or the countries they represent.
To qualify for the international final round, contestants must meet both criteria:
• Rank within the top six of their enrolled class
• Achieve a minimum score of 80 out of 100
The competition maintains high artistic standards — a championship may not be awarded if the judges feel the performances do not meet the required level. Judges are invited from different countries each year, and the final round is evaluated by a panel of international judges, separate from those in the preliminary rounds.
This year, 10 students participated in the Australia round of the festival — and we’re proud to share that all 10 received awards and advanced to the final round.
