Conratulations, Wakakirri Crew!

St Francis School has received a State Award and is being considered for another National Award for our 2026 Wakakirri performance, 'Helping Hands and Healing Hearts'.

Wakakirri is Australia’s largest performing arts event for schools, with 191 schools taking part in 2026.

Our 2026 story-dance was inspired by the dedicated medical professionals who go above and beyond for their patients. Throughout the performance, our students demonstrate that kindness is contagious and even just one thoughtful act can have a long-lasting lasting impact.

Wakakirri Ambassador, Kurt Benton, commended our St Francis performers:
“Amazing work by all on portraying incredibly well a really important and beautiful message that would mean a lot to so many people!”
We wish our students all the best for their performance at the State Awards Show tonight!

We would also like to extend a huge congratulations and heartfelt thank you to our incredibly talented Miss Gill. Miss Gill has dedicated countless hours, sacrificed more lunchtimes than imaginable, and generously given so much of her own time to ensure our students were as prepared and confident as possible.

This is the second time Miss Gill has successfully led a Wakakirri performance that has received a State Award. We are truly blessed to have her leading our Wakakirri team and inspiring our students to achieve their very best.

Donuts with Dad – Tomorrow!

We are so excited to celebrate the wonderful men in our school community tomorrow at our Donuts with Dad event!

It’s a special opportunity to come together, share a donut and celebrate the important men who make such a positive difference in the lives of our students.

Father’s Day Stall – Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, our students will have the opportunity to shop at our wonderful P&F Father’s Day stalls! There are gifts for everyone, with prices starting from just $5.

Please note: the stalls are cash only. Please send a gift or shopping bag with students. There will be a catch up stall Thursday for those who will be at touch tomorrow.

A huge thank you to our amazing P&F for all their hard work, organisation and ongoing support of our school community. We truly appreciate everything you do!

SCHOOL PHOTO DAY IS COMING!

Get those smiles ready... School Photo Day is fast approaching!

School photos will be taken on Wednesday, 9 September, with a catch-up day on Tuesday, 15 September for students who are absent on the main photo day.

To make sure everyone is looking their best, please remember that students must wear their correct school uniform, including appropriate footwear and accessories.

SAPSASA Athletics Carnival
On Wednesday, 19 August, 46 St Francis students attended the SAPSASA Airport District Athletics Carnival. Our students competed exceptionally well against the other schools in attendance and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, determination, and skill throughout the day.
We celebrated many impressive individual and team performances across both track and field events. As a result of these efforts, St Francis finished the carnival in an outstanding 3rd place overall.
We are incredibly proud of all students who participated and contributed to our school's success. Congratulations to Evie Daley, Rori Porplyzia, and Isla Coard, who have been selected to represent the district at the State Championships. We wish them every success as they take on this exciting opportunity.
Well done to all involved on a fantastic day of athletics!

The courtyard was buzzing with excitement this morning as we celebrated another wonderful Book Week Parade. Mrs Smith organised such a wonderful event, and we were so glad to welcome so many families from the community to experience the joy with us. Positive Behaviour Chicken Naming Competition!

Over the next two weeks, we are excited to launch our Name Our Chickens Competition.

Students who demonstrate positive behaviours and contribute positively to our school community will be rewarded with a Chicket. Students can then use their Chicket to nominate a name for one of our chickens, with all entries going into the final draw.

This is a fun way to celebrate our school values while giving students a voice in welcoming our newest school pets.

BOOK WEEK PARADE

We warmly invite families to join us in celebrating Book Week at our Book Week Parade on Friday, 28 August at 9:15am on the tennis courts.

Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character and join in the fun as we celebrate a love of reading and storytelling.

We look forward to seeing our families there!
