Growing future changemakers! 🌍

At Emali Brighton, children proudly care for our worm farm and compost, water the garden with leftover drinking water, and grow fresh herbs and veggies to help prepare their own lunches! πŸ₯•βœ¨

Through hands-on sustainability practices, children develop confidence, responsibility and a strong connection to the world around them. We love seeing the pride on their faces as they watch their efforts grow and flourish! 🌿🌞

This National Reconciliation Week, our Emali communities came together to learn, listen, reflect and connect.

Across our centres, children engaged in meaningful experiences that explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives, fostering curiosity, respect and a growing understanding of the world around them.

Inspired by this year’s theme, All In, we recognise that reconciliation is not confined to one week, it is embedded in our daily practice. It is an ongoing commitment to building respectful relationships, valuing First Nations voices, and creating learning environments where every child develops a sense of belonging and connection to community.

We are proud of the thoughtful conversations, shared learning and genuine moments of discovery that took place across our centres, and we remain committed to embedding reconciliation in our everyday practice.

Together, we continue learning, growing and walking forward with respect.

πŸ“šβœ¨ National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 πŸ“–

Emali Brighton headed out on a special excursion to the Community Centre to join thousands of children right across Australia in reading Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller at the very same moment. 🦘⚽

There’s something truly special about knowing that while our Emali children were turning the pages together, so many other children were doing exactly the same thing from libraries, classrooms and living rooms all over the nation. A shared moment of story, imagination and connection. πŸ’›

Beyond storytime, the fun continued with games, fresh air, and lunch soaking up the sunshine outside. The perfect day! β˜€οΈ

A huge thank you to authors and for such a wonderful book, and to Little Book Press and everyone involved in making NSS 2026 so special.

Here’s to raising little readers, one story at a time. πŸ“–

Curious little minds in a world full of wonder ✨

This month, our Emali Broadview children stepped into the extraordinary world of the South Australian Museum for World Museum Day, where learning comes to life! πŸ¦•πŸŒ

When little ones can see, touch, and wonder at the stories of our world, something magical happens. Curiosity ignites. Questions multiply. Stories become reality. The puzzle pieces all come together. 🧩🧠

We feel so grateful for our incredible relationship with the South Australian Museum; a partnership that gives our children access to experiences that spark a genuine love of learning, right here in South Australia. 🩷

Until next time…

Today marks a milestone for our team and community, with the 10th Emali Early Learning Centre officially opening in North Plympton.

The vision of transforming an iconic 1800s heritage home into a safe and inviting place of learning for young children has been a long but rewarding journey.

The home is full of history (shown in our photos) and was affected by extensive fire damage enduring a complete restoration and extension to the naturally lit, inspiring space families and young children can now enjoy again from today.

Not only has the character of the home been revived, Emali North Plympton has become home to our very first dedicated Music Room, Sports Field and also includes a Sensory Room, a unique feature now embedded into three Emali ELCs.

A phenomenal amount of effort, consideration and work has gone into every detail big and small and we sincerely thank all involved for their belief, passion and contribution. As a locally owned & operated organisation, we are incredibly proud to showcase this beautiful transformation and look forward to welcoming more families into the Emali community.

Our community came together to celebrate the mums who make every day brighter. ✨ There was coffee, doughnuts, colouring, and a whole lot of love in the Photo Booth.

To every mum & mum figure across our Emali community, we hope your day was as special as you are. 🌸
