Home corners are important to our development and learning. We can role play scenes from home or from our imagination. Pretend play supports us to negotiate taking turns, work cooperatively with others and exchange ideas.
Plus, it's really, really fun 💚

Gross motor skills are important to our development as they enable us to perform everyday functions, such as sitting upright at the table or getting in and out of bed.
But gross motor skills let us do all those super fun things too, like jumping, balancing and hopping!

The Brain Architects:
Building Resilience Through Play
These days, resilience is needed more than ever, and one simple, underrecognized way of supporting healthy and resilient child development is as old as humanity itself: play. Far from frivolous, play contributes to sturdy brain architecture, the foundations of lifelong health, and the building blocks of resilience, yet its importance is often overlooked. In this podcast, we explore the role of play in supporting resilience with a panel of experts on play. Andres Bustamante, Erum Mariam, Laura Huerta Migus, Lynneth Solis, and Michael Yogman share their ideas and personal stories about applying the science of play in homes, communities, and crisis environments around the world.
Listen to the podcast
"Play allows children to deal with uncertainty ... it allows children to pivot, to adapt, to follow different paths, depending on what’s happening right in front of them ... it’s an iterative process."

We gather today in this special place to continue our learning journey together. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people as the traditional custodians of the land upon which we meet. We pay our respects to the Elders of the past, present and future and acknowledge their spiritual connection to Country.
"The land owns us." - Australian Aboriginal Proverb 🌅
Always giving thanks and respect to the Aboriginal people who came before us, walk with us, and are yet to come.
