🌟📚 National Simultaneous Storytime Fun! 🦘⚽
On Wednesday, the children from Preschool 1 & 2 excitedly gathered outdoors to take part in Australia’s National Simultaneous Storytime! 🇦🇺✨
Rajena shared with the children that kids and educators all across the country were reading the very same story at the exact same time — Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Wallace and Adrian Beck, illustrated by Jake A. Minton. 📖💛
The children were full of excitement and curiosity as they joined together, listened attentively, and enjoyed being part of this special nationwide reading experience.
🦘⚽ Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller is a fun and inspiring story about teamwork, confidence, and believing in yourself — reminding us all that even underdogs can shine! 🌈✨

Celebrating Country Through Art 🎨🌿
This week, during Reconciliation Week, the children explored creativity, culture, and connection to Country. After reading Finding Our Heart, they painted on bark using colour and texture to express their ideas and explored a Kaurna Land map to deepen their understanding of place, belonging, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. Through shared discussions and artistic expression, the children developed respect for culture, communication skills, and meaningful connections to Country. ❤️🖤💛

Yesterday, we delivered the generous donations from our families and staff to Backpack 4 SA Kids. The team were incredibly grateful for the amazing support from our community.
During our visit, Glenn shared how staff and volunteers carefully sort and pack backpacks for children entering care, young people transitioning out of foster care, and families rebuilding their lives after homelessness or domestic violence.
Although the warehouse looked full, we were surprised to learn it would need to be completely replenished within just two months due to the high demand for their services.
It was inspiring to see the important work this charity does to bring comfort and dignity to children and families during difficult times. Thank you to everyone who donated so generously — your kindness truly makes a difference. 💙

What a joyful morning in Preschool 1. Cristina brought in her ukulele and the children were instantly captivated. Their eyes lit up as she introduced the instrument, and soon everyone wanted a turn to gently strum it. Together they sang many favourite songs, including the Nina Marni song, filling the room with music and connection.
Through these shared moments, the children are strengthening their emotional regulation as they sing alongside their educators. They’re also expanding their vocabulary and learning more about musical instruments in such a fun, meaningful way.

Our Preschool 2 children explored emotions through the Colour Monsters! 💛💙💚❤️
They shared how they were feeling, matched colours to emotions, and practised recognising facial expressions. The group also supported each other in learning that feelings can change and that it’s okay to express them. Such a beautiful morning of emotional learning, empathy, and teamwork. 💕

Sensory play in action in the Nursery! 🌿
The educators present the children with a tray that featured a grass base and natural materials like pinecones and flower pots. Children jumped straight in, examining the objects and exploring their textures. Soon more little learners joined, each choosing items that sparked their curiosity.
With prompts like “Is it prickly, smooth, or rough?” the children used touch and exploration to guide their learning — a wonderful moment of hands‑on discovery.
This is something simple and easy you can do at home with things you find around the garden - the learning doesn't have to stop here!

The Toddlers sensory play was a hit!
After reading the book, 'Garden Stew', the children gathered to create a “garden stew,” exploring natural materials like leaves, feathers, flowers, sticks, and sand. They were deeply engaged—touching, observing, and talking about the different textures and shapes.
After combining all the ingredients, we revisited each one together, supporting language development and curiosity. The children then continued stirring their garden stew with joy and focus.🍃🌺💧

Our Preschool 2 learners had so much fun practicing syllables today. Using animal cards, rhyming words, and simple flashcards, they read each word, counted the syllables, and clapped them out. Some children are getting the hang of it, others are still learning — and a few just love the clapping so much they forget the syllables, which made it even more fun.
Teaching syllables helps build strong foundations in reading and language. It boosts spelling, vocabulary, and pronunciation — and most importantly, keeps learning engaging and enjoyable.
