Our team last night participated in a professional development workshop called "Rethinking how we talk with children," facilitated by Penny Cook from Lady Gowrie.

The session encouraged us to reflect deeply on our daily interactions. We explored important questions such as:

- Do we take time to think about how we talk to children?

- Why do we say what we say in the ways we do, and does it matter?

- How can we unpack our communication to ensure high-quality interactions?

We examined common phrases like "good job," "use your words," and "say sorry," and discussed how children experience these words. The workshop challenged us to think about what we truly want a child to experience when we greet them or guide their behaviour.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Liza from SIDS and Kids SA into our Centre for a refresher course for safe sleep training. The team engaged well and took time to reflect on how we can continue to provide a safe sleeping environment for the children.
This week we will also be celebrating Red Nose Day with the children. Red Nose day is an annual fundraising campaign in Australia held by the Red Nose organisation to “get silly for a serious cause,” aiming to raise funds and awareness to prevent SIDS and stillbirth.
