🌿 Yesterday, our Executive Director Anna Ritzema met with the CEO Johanna Stalley from Science Teachers Association of WA to discuss the roles of teaching associations and some of the challenges but also the importance they play in education. State associations work closely together with their national bodies to provide robust conversations and expertise into their subject areas. The National conference is set to be held in Brisbane this year

We want to tell others about the wonderful work taking place all over the world
Our Executive Director Anna Ritzema and Alison Bedford our Editor in Chief, met with fellow members of the Australian Alliance of Associations in Education for their AGM. These are always fantastic opportunities to meet with fellow associations and have a catch up on their work and the exciting things going on in their space. What is always apparent is how important education associations are to any reform or national conversation on education. Associations provide outstanding contributions to the evidence that underpins work in our field, and have high levels of expertise from passionate, dedicated educators and researchers.
Meg Brighton spoke to us all on the developments on the proposed Teaching and Learning Commission and graciously answered the many questions we put to her. We look forward to how we can continue our support of the work in the Education departments.
We also enjoyed a conversation about pedagogical position statements, noting what other associations had previously done and were part of.
Thanks to John Nicholas Saunders, PhD, Allan Dougan and the executive team for their continued hard work.
This year, we continue to shine a light on the work of other associations and our commitment to conversation and support of important educational change.
