Sharing Mr David Boots' Family post regarding their remarkable family member and one of the Heights school's memorable teachers:

To all of David's friends, I am writing this post with a heavy heart. In the early hours of this morning, Uncle David sadly passed away after a long battle with brain cancer. I'm sure everyone who knew David will remember him for going above and beyond with his volunteer work in the community, and for the endless jokes he shared. We would like to thank the staff at Star of the Sea for the care they provided for David, particularly in these past few difficult weeks. To remember David today, please feel free to share any photos, special moments, memories or jokes on this post. We will be making arrangements for a memorial service in Wallaroo in the coming weeks, and will share the details here for you all. On behalf of our family, thank you all for your support during this time.

RIP Shane Jenkins

Hi everyone! This is Kirsty Madden, David's niece. Most of you will already know Uncle David has been unwell and is in hospital being treated for two brain tumours. He has undergone surgery where one was removed, and is waiting to go in for a second surgery soon. He will likely be out of action for at least a month. He is doing okay, but unfortunately having difficulties using keyboards at the moment so isn't using is computer. His phone is also turned off. If you'd like to get in touch with him, please reach out to my mum Karen Bryant or myself and we'll be happy to help. Thanks to everyone who has sent messages or called. Uncle David really appreciates all of your support.
