Did you know there is a free program available for families with babies aged 6–18 months who may be showing early differences in communication or social interaction?
Inklings is a research-backed program that helps parents and caregivers better understand and respond to their baby’s unique way of communicating. Families receive up to 10 free sessions with a trained practitioner, tailored to their child and family.
Families who have participated in Inklings say the program helped them feel more confident, connected and supported in their parenting journey.
The program is available across metropolitan and regional South Australia and can be accessed through health services, children’s centres, at home or via telehealth.

How does a CaFHS van look like?
Today, preschool children were really excited to go on an excursion to our car park. There was a special van at the car park. It was a van about children and family Health Service. The children went on the van and learnt about health check with a nurse. We measured our heights and weights. The children also mentioned who the tallest was in the class. Interacting with the nurse helped children to build positive connections with community helpers.

Dear Families,
We are delighted to welcome Yating to our team.
She will be joining us as ECT and working alongside both the rooms JPS and PS.
Please find a message from Yating below and join us in making her feel warmly welcomed at Goodstart Melrose Park.
Hello, my name is Yating. I am a graduate of the Master of Early Childhood Teaching at University of South Australia and have been working with children since 2017.
I come from a bilingual family which speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin. I am a warm, approachable, and passionate educator who values learning alongside children.
I firmly believe that building positive relationships with children and their families forms the foundation of effective teaching and supports children’s growth and development.
As an enthusiastic teacher, I am passionate about inspiring children to explore the world around them while developing their knowledge and skills.
I strongly believe that children are capable learners who can make meaningful choices about what and how they learn. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know the children and families at the centre.

Hi families!
My name is Yiu, and I’m very excited to be joining the Goodstart team as the new teacher supporting the preschool rooms. It’s a pleasure to take part in your children’s early learning journey. I’m sure we will create many memorable moments of learning and exploring.
I grew up in Hong Kong, where the pace of life is fast. Working with children helps me stay grounded and truly enjoy the present moment. In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, watching movies, and going on hikes. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you. Please don’t hesitate to say hello or ask me any questions!
