Across the season, our debaters have been asked to tackle interesting and sometimes challenging questions, research evidence, construct persuasive cases and respond directly to opposing arguments.

Round 5 brought our preliminary season at Nazareth Catholic College to a close!

Five rounds of researching, reasoning, presenting, listening and responding have given students the opportunity to develop skills that extend well beyond the debating room.

Debating asks students not simply to have an opinion, but to explain it, support it with evidence and engage seriously with the arguments presented by the other side.

Thank you to Nazareth Catholic College for hosting Debating SA this season, and to the many people behind the scenes who make each debating evening possible.

Next stop, the finals! πŸ†
