Great session to learn more about child car restraints, helmets and road safety!
Parents and carers are invited to a new FREE road safety session presented by SAPOL Road Safety Educators at the SA Police Road Safety Centre.
This session focuses on the everyday choices that help keep children safe on our roads, covering:
- Child restraints
- Pedestrian safety
- School crossings
- Bike safety
Attendees will also hear from SAPOL Road Safety Advocate Lyndal, who will share her deeply personal story about how the right choice of bike helmet saved the life of her fouryearold son, Lincoln, after he was struck by a van. Her experience is a powerful reminder that the right safety choices really can mean the difference between life and death.

Our 2026 photos are back at Kindy! Ready for collection at pick up or drop off times.
Do you recognise these children? Two of your teachers, back when they attended kindergarten as 4 year olds. Have a guess!
Did you or a family member attend Jean Horan Kindy? We would love to see some past photos of parents, grandparents and family members at JHK. It might even turn into our next inquiry project with the children. Bring them in or email them through to [email protected]

Do you have a citizen scientist in your home? Maybe you can help track butterflies 🦋
Have you noticed an explosion of butterflies where you are? 🦋
Green Adelaide's Professor Chris Daniels has told 891 ABC Adelaide there has been a notable increase in butterfly sightings across South Australia—particularly north of the state—during the 2024–2026 period, especially in early spring and summer.
He’s calling on citizen scientists to help track what’s happening, asking people to report the types of butterflies they’re seeing in their local area.
Seen more butterflies than usual? Share your photos and sightings below ⬇️
Pictured here are the Monarch butterfly and the Chequered Swallowtail—both of which have been reported in increasing numbers across Adelaide in recent sightings.
Tune in to Professor Chris Daniels with 891 ABC Adelaide's Rory McClaren Thursday 7 May 9-10am on ABC listen
