This year at our Woodville, we had 50 students participate in the Kangarou Sans Frontiere Mathematics Competition. The competitions provide students with the opportunity to challenge themselves, develop their problem-solving skills, and showcase their mathematical abilities. All students who participate receive certificates, which can also support future job applications and university scholarships.
The Kangourou sans Frontières (KSF) is now the largest maths competition in the world, with more than 6 million participants each year. Held in March, the KSF is a great opportunity for students to experience maths in a competitive environment. Pictured are students that achieved either a credit or distinction in the competition.
A huge congratulations to all students that participated. If you are interested in entering mathematics competitions in the future, please keep an eye on the SEQTA notices or speak with your Mathematics teacher, as these opportunities are open to all students.

This Refugee Week, Woodville High School is proud to take part in the national recognition of “A Million Stories.” For four decades, Refugee Week has united Australians in acknowledging the journeys, strengths, and remarkable contributions of refugees across the country.
Every story adds to the tapestry of more than a million permanent humanitarian visas granted since 1947, enriching our nation’s diversity and shaping the welcoming communities we value today.
As we celebrate this important milestone, we are reminded to reflect on how we can keep welcoming, supporting, and embracing all who join our community. By listening and sharing stories, we deepen our understanding, break down barriers, and recognise the richness that new beginnings bring to our lives. At Woodville High School, we honour the past, celebrate the present, and look ahead to a future where every person belongs and is valued.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY: House Clean-Up Challenge 🌱 🌎
Today is World Environment Day, a reminder that the small choices we make every day can have a big impact on our planet. By working together, embracing different perspectives, and continuing to take positive action, we can help build a greener future for all.
On Monday 1 June, during Thrive, students and staff joined forces in their House groups to clean up areas around the school, demonstrating environmental responsibility, teamwork, school pride, and community action.
A huge congratulations to Jupiter House, who won the Most Bags Collected category with an outstanding 38 garbage bags collected! 👏 ♻️
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make a positive impact on our school environment and community. Together, we can make a difference! 🌏 💚
