What a huge difference it makes to your work life when you are finally registered with a scheme like Foundations Family Day Care who have a real “can do” approach to excursions with the children.

Today we saw the Chihuly Exhibition at the Adelaide Botanical Gardens. A wonderful day out exploring the structures, beautiful weather and wonderful colleagues.

It melts my heart to see little friendships start to develop that, hopefully, will last for years to come 💕💙💙😁

Today saw us back at play after three weeks holiday.

A lovely nature walk, playing on the tyre swing, collecting feathers, practising balancing and feeding the ducks.

I am fortunate enough to say that Miss Aria (as she fondly became known) came into my life long before she came into my care.

At just a few days old, I met you, Aria, when Mason, proudly showed you off to his friends as he was dropped off into my care. Your momma would place you on the rug in my lounge room and you’d happily smile at all of the other children who came over to gaze at you and at the parents who would admire your glorious crown of thick brown hair.

Day one in care in January 2016 at just 10 months old I remember you falling silently to sleep in my arms after your lunch. No protest or upset, just quietly drifting off.

Fast forward almost 3 years and here you are leaving my care to start ventures new. You’ve grown into a wonderfully caring and nurturing girl who always gives a thought to her ‘friends’ needs. You’ve also got your cheeky side, a tall tale to tell, a joke to share, a song in your heart and an ever present mischievious sparkle in your eyes.

You became something of a ‘Mother Hen’ to the younger children in care with wanting to help them whether it was to help them apply sunscreen, help with nappy changes or give a stern ‘scoldiing’ when you felt your friends were bending the rules.

I can’t begin to tell you how much you’ve made me smile over the years and how much I’m going to miss you. Please don’t ever let that fire in your heart go out or the song in your head be erased.

Good luck gorgeous girl.

To your parents Abbie and Adam, thank you so much for trusting me over the years to look after the most precious things in your life, Mason and Aria. You were the first ever family to trust me with your children and I will be ever thankful.

I have permission from the parent involved to share this with you all. Please be aware and stay safe:

Hi Michelle
Oh my goodness, ***** found a pin in her raspberry yesterday at school!!! So the day was filled with police, forensics, cctv, questioning, then the detectives met me at home to cut up the remaining raspberries!! Can not believe people are doing this intentionally. Be careful, the pin was pushed in upside down with pointy end facing up!
Apparently there have been 3 other incidents with raspberries!! Scary.
