🍃 PAINTING WITH NATURE 🍃
Our toddlers have been busy exploring new painting methods using natural materials such as sticks, leaves, nuts, and flowers. They enjoyed discovering the different patterns and textures each item created on a large shared canvas.
This experience supported creativity, fine motor development, and sensory exploration while encouraging children to connect with nature. Using materials from our local environment also helped foster an appreciation for the land and supported Aboriginal perspectives through a connection to Country.

the children had lots of fun participating in a spontaneous parachute play experience. Together, they worked as a team to keep the ball from rolling off the parachute and enjoyed lifting it high into the air to watch it float like a colourful balloon.
This experience supported teamwork, communication, turn-taking, coordination, and sparked curiosity as the children explored how the parachute trapped air and moved.

🌿 Learning Through Aboriginal Perspectives – Now Enrolling for all ages💧
https://tinytotsacademy.com.au/
To extend the toddlers’ learning about water, they explored Aboriginal symbols through a hands-on matching experience. The children matched symbols on cards to those painted on rocks, discovering representations of rain, waterholes, and rivers while sharing their ideas about their meanings.
They also explored Aboriginal artworks, recognising familiar symbols and discussing the stories they might tell. This experience supported observation skills, early visual literacy, and a respectful appreciation of Aboriginal art and storytelling.

Since Harmony Week, we have continued exploring what it means to “find harmony” in our diverse community. Through conversations and shared experiences, the children are learning about respect, inclusion, and celebrating differences.
Last week we celebrated the British heritage of some of our families with a special afternoon tea, enjoying English tea and biscuits together.
We look forward to continuing our journey and exploring many more cultures in the weeks ahead!
