There’s only a handful of tickets remaining for the Greek Lyceum of South Australia Dinner Dance!

🌟Greek Lyceum of SA 2025 Concert🌟

** A Life, A Tradition: The Cycle of Life **

Celebrating the cycle of life through dance, song and play. 🧸💙

A handkerchief (mandili) passed on from generation to generation, the threads of embroidery weaving stories of the past and linking us with our ancestors.

When we dance today, we hold our mandili proudly, as our ancestors have done for generations before us, as we continue to keep our traditions and culture alive through our dedication to Greek Dance.

Our concert celebrated growing up, growing old and reminiscing on memories sometimes painful but also joyful and inspiring. Our students danced and sung through life, from the first footsteps of an infant, the playful nature of children, the development of character during the teenage years, becoming young independent adults, creating new families, new experiences, moving away from their childhood home, and then starting their own cycle of life.

The concert tied together generations of families, as we asked our students to interview their family members to share their experiences of childhood, migration and adult life in Greece and Australia.

Tears were shed as the photos of our students’ ancestors were displayed in the background as their descendants danced. Carrying on the traditions, embroidering their own lives with the stories of the past. Just like the stories shared and embroidered on to the mandili.
