This week, the children explored Endangered Species Day through a beautiful small world play experience featuring a waterfall habitat and Australian animals. 🦘🐨💦
Through imaginative play and discussion, the children learned about some of Australia’s endangered animals and the importance of protecting their natural environments. Small world play encourages curiosity, creativity, and meaningful conversations, helping children develop empathy and a deeper connection to the world around them. 🌿💛
It’s been wonderful to see the children so engaged in learning about how we can care for and protect our wildlife for future generations. 🌏✨

We’ve been celebrating Nature Play Week by immersing ourselves in nature-based experiences. 🌿✨
The children have been exploring the outdoors, engaging in open-ended play, and connecting with the natural world through their senses, curiosity, and imagination.
Nature play supports creativity, wellbeing, and a sense of responsibility for our environment—and it’s been wonderful to see the joy and wonder it brings. 🌏💚
We love creating opportunities for children to learn, explore, and grow through nature every day.

This week, we’ve been learning about “ghost nets” and the impact they have on our ocean animals. 🐢💙
Ghost nets are lost or discarded fishing nets that continue to drift through the ocean, often trapping marine life like turtles.
Through conversations and play, the children have been exploring how we can care for our environment and protect these beautiful animals. It’s been wonderful to see their curiosity, empathy, and growing understanding of how small actions can make a big difference. 🌏✨
Together, we’re learning to be kind to our planet and all the creatures who call it home.

🧧 Lunar New Year Celebrations Continue in Camille! 🧧
To finish off our Lunar New Year celebrations, the children in our Camille centre enjoyed a very special hands-on cooking experience — making their own Chinese noodles!
The children helped roll out the dough and carefully cut it into long strips, watching as their noodles were cooked and later enjoyed as part of their lunch. Experiences like this allow children to explore different cultures while developing important skills such as coordination, patience, and teamwork.
To extend the learning even further, the children created their own “noodle paintings” by dipping pieces of yarn into paint and dragging them across the paper to create long, wiggly noodle patterns. 🎨
It was a wonderful way to combine culture, creativity, and sensory exploration while celebrating Lunar New Year together! 🏮🥢

For the past two weeks across both of our centres, the children have been celebrating Lunar New Year through a variety of rich, thoughtfully planned activities that supported cultural awareness.
🥟 Making homemade dumplings, exploring new ingredients and engaging in sensory learning
🧧 Creating red envelope cards, learning about symbols of good luck and prosperity
👘 Exploring traditional Chinese dress through art, dramatic play and cultural discussions and fashion design.
Through these experiences, the children not only developed important skills such as hand-eye coordination, social collaboration and language development, but also built an appreciation for diversity and traditions celebrated around the world - values that are so important in early childhood education.
Wishing all of our families a year filled with happiness, health and prosperity! ✨

We are hiring!
We are looking for the right casual educator to join our wonderful team in Hallett Cove. If you're the kind of educator who can tie shoelaces, pour imaginary tea and solve dinosaur disputes (sometimes all at once), we want to hear from you! 😊
