🚀 ADAPTING AND GROWING 🌱

As of late I’ve noticed the landscape change a lot. As I’ve been operating this business now for 4 years, I’ve had incredible opportunities to work with the most amazing educators and school leaders!

In terms of my services they have evolved over the years, from writing cover letters to editing CVs and creating full applications from scratch along with mentoring people through the application process.

What we’ve seen with AI take off is the need to adapt, change and grow.

So that’s what I’m doing. To be Frank with most of my clients coming from the reputation I’ve built, from word of mouth / referral and some on social media - this has dropped with everyone feeling more confident to tackle the process solo now they have an AI tool to spit out something acceptable!

But I’ve realised my mission is actually to help people grow and as such I want to adapt with the landscape and offer something AI can’t… a committment to people and helping you grow your career.

Shortly on my website I’ll be offering Career Coaching services alongside my existing application writing packages.

Below are some tips to help you set yourself up for success in 2025…

1) Prioritise your career…. Start from now, not day 1 of the term. How can you prioritise your career progression now and how will 2025 play into this for you?

2)Buy a diary and write down your successful initiatives and stories. This will make it so much easier for you to track your milestones and be able to document them in an application!

3)Be vocal about what YOU want! This means applying for the job you’re not 100% about. Set the intention to say YES to opportunities more than you say no to. Does that help you build experience for the long term?

🗣️ 📝 ✅ Teacher Interviews - Dos and Dont’s 🙋‍♂️ 📝 🚫

With it being the end of 2024, and lots of jobs are advertised for 2025, I wanted to share a few hot tips for teachers and school leaders for when you hit the interview phase of the process.

🔖 Tip 1: Don’t wrote learn a script. The worst thing you can do is practice a script. Practice speaking from the heart and instead prepare good solid examples you can discuss… they need to be your stories of success as a teacher!

🔖 Tip 2: If you are asked “is there anything you’d like to add”, it’s not a trick question! Always say yes! This needs to be given equal weighting and the same emphasis as any other question…

🔖 Tip 3: Don’t ask any questions at the end, UNLESS you are given permission and asked to ask! If that makes sense. Prepare 1 or 2 open ended questions nothing to complex but don’t ask unless asked to ask!

✍️ 📝 ✅ Teacher Applications - Dos and Dont’s ✍️ 📝 🚫
There are some very common dos and dont’s which teachers often get wrong.
- Keep your CV short, concise and to the point is appealing
- Project into the role
- Use specific examples to illustrate your experience

- Don’t include strong identifying information or photos, panels are people and they make judgements and even though there are selection rules and processes, people still make judgements right or wrong. Leave it out!
- Don’t stress if you don’t hear back straight away, give it a few weeks before making contact!
- No 10+ applications please, may as well waste your time doing something else…. No one wants to read a novel
