In 2019, I painted this necklace entirely by hand using gouache.
At the time, I never imagined I would one day recreate my traditional jewellery designs digitally, let alone fall in love with the process.
After rebuilding my jewellery brush systems from the ground up, I finally translated this piece into Procreate the way I had always envisioned it.
Same design foundations.
Evolved tools.

When you look at the finished design, it feels complex.
But when you break it down, it’s actually a series of simple components repeated, adjusted and layered together.
That’s how I approach digital design now.
Not as one complete drawing…
but as a construction process.
Each element is placed intentionally, built from individual systems, and refined until the composition feels balanced.
It’s the same way I’ve always designed.
Just a different medium.

There’s something I’ve come to appreciate about working digitally…
It reveals the structure behind the design.
Every curve, every stone, every connection, nothing is accidental.
It’s all built, layered, and considered piece by piece.
This is what my process looks like now.
Not replacing the way I was trained,
but translating it into a workflow that allows me to design, refine and experiment with far more freedom.
Same foundation.
Different tools.
A completely different way of thinking through a design.

Every element in this necklace was constructed using individual Procreate jewellery brush systems.
Not painted randomly.
Not AI generated.
Built piece by piece using the same jewellery design principles I’ve used for years as a manufacturing jeweller.
What started as hand-rendered gouache concepts has evolved into a complete digital workflow I genuinely never imagined myself falling in love with.
Now I can rebuild archived designs faster, experiment more freely, test layouts instantly, and create professional presentation artwork directly in Procreate while still designing with manufacturing in mind.
This necklace was created using:
• Diamond System
• Pearl System
• Metals & Findings System
All layered together to build a complete professional jewellery composition digitally.
The updated systems were designed to make digital jewellery design more realistic, more structured, and far more efficient for jewellers and designers.

Reimagining My Archive ✨
In 2015, I painted this necklace concept traditionally using watercolour techniques.
At the time, digital jewellery design wasn’t even something I imagined pursuing. My world was paper, paint, pencils, gouache and long hours carefully building depth by hand.
Over a decade later, I’ve revisited the design again, this time digitally in Procreate.
What surprises me most is that moving into digital hasn’t taken away the artistry for me… it’s expanded it.
Reimagining these archived paintings using my updated jewellery brush systems has reignited something creatively in me that I honestly didn’t expect.

Every part of this necklace design was constructed using individual Procreate jewellery brush systems.
Not copied.
Not AI generated.
Built piece by piece using professional digital jewellery design workflow.
This design combines:
• Diamond System 2.0
• Ring Band System
• Gradient maps
• Light Theory
One of the biggest shifts in my own workflow was learning that professional design isn’t about drawing every single element from scratch every time.
It’s about:
• structure
• consistency
• efficiency
• scalability
• understanding how jewellery is actually built
That’s exactly why I created these updated brush systems.
To help jewellery designers create faster, cleaner, more professional concepts inside Procreate, while still learning proper design construction and workflow.
These are the strongest, most realistic brushes I’ve created so far and they’ve completely changed the way I design digitally.
