🌿 Excursion to Garden Grove Nursery 🌿
Our Little Leaders recently enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Garden Grove Nursery as part of our ongoing Bush Kinder and sustainability project. Prior to the visit, the children brainstormed ideas, shared their voices and created artwork about the flowers and plants they would like to include within our outdoor learning environment.
During the excursion, children explored a variety of flowers and plants, compared colours, textures and scents, and worked together to select plants for our Bush Kinder space. The experience supported children’s agency, teamwork, decision-making and connection with nature.
A special thank you to the team at Garden Grove Nursery for welcoming our children and supporting their learning experience throughout the visit.
We cannot wait to continue planting, caring for and watching our Bush Kinder environment grow together. 🌱

Yesterday our team participated in a powerful professional development session with Connect. Ed focused on trauma-informed practice and understanding children’s behaviour through connection, empathy and emotional safety.
Through meaningful discussions, reflective activities and shared experiences, our educators explored how behaviour is often a form of communication and how, as educators, we can respond with understanding, patience and empathy.
From discussing triggers and emotional regulation, to unpacking the “Behaviour Iceberg”, the session reminded us that every child deserves to feel seen, safe, heard and supported.
We are incredibly proud of our team for engaging so openly, reflecting on their own practice and continuing to grow professionally to provide the best outcomes for children and families.
At Nido Early School Golden Grove North, we are committed to continuous learning and building strong, nurturing relationships that support children’s social and emotional wellbeing every day.

Nido Early School Golden Grove North Supporting Clean Bums for Little Ones
We are proud to once again support The Nappy Collective’s “Clean Bums for Little Ones” campaign throughout May.
Last year, the generosity from our families and community made a huge difference to vulnerable families who were struggling to access everyday essentials for their children. Seeing our community come together with such kindness and compassion was incredibly meaningful.
Many families across Australia are experiencing nappy stress, and something as simple as donating unused nappies can provide comfort, dignity and support to little ones who truly need it.
Your donation could genuinely change someone’s life. 🌸
🧷 We are accepting:
• Unused nappies in all sizes
• Opened packs welcome
• Pull-ups accepted
📅 Donation Drive:
1st–31st May 2026
📍 Donations can be dropped off at our service foyer.
Thank you for helping us continue teaching our children the importance of empathy, community and caring for others through real acts of kindness. Together, we can make a meaningful difference. 💕

Exploring the Wonders of Animals 🐾
Our children had an incredible hands-on learning experience with Nature Education SA during an engaging animal incursion.
Children across all age groups were immersed in meaningful, real-life learning as they explored a variety of animals including a snake, lizard, frog and turtle, along with observing a preserved koala. This experience supported children’s curiosity about the natural world and deepened their understanding of different species and habitats.
It was wonderful to see so many of our children demonstrating confidence and bravery gently touching the lizard and even holding the snake with guidance. These moments reflect growing trust, resilience and a willingness to explore new experiences.
Opportunities like this foster respect for living things, encourage inquiry-based learning, and support children in building strong connections with nature.
A truly memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.
