This week, Nido Golden Grove North was buzzing with excitement as Smile Safari transformed our learning spaces into a fun and interactive dental adventure!

From real dental check-ups to hands-on play experiences, our children explored the importance of caring for their teeth through curiosity, creativity and play.

Growing Together Through Professional Learning 🌿

Our team recently participated in a professional development session with Connect.Ed, exploring trauma-informed practice, behaviour support and self-regulation.

Through practical activities and collaborative discussions, our educators strengthened their understanding of how to create safe, responsive and nurturing environments where every child feels seen, supported and ready to learn.

We are committed to continuous learning because the best outcomes for children begin with knowledgeable and reflective educators.

☕ Pyjama Week Community Morning

What a wonderful way to start the day! It was lovely to see our families, children, educators and members of our local community come together for a warm coffee and conversation during our Pyjama Week celebrations in support of The Pyjama Foundation.

A heartfelt thank you to LJ Ho**er for partnering with us by providing the coffee van and helping make the morning so special. We truly appreciate your support of our service and our local community.

Today we celebrated our beautiful Gemma as she prepares to begin her maternity leave in two weeks.

We’re so grateful for the kindness, care and positivity she brings to our team each day. It was wonderful to spend some time together, share a few treats and wish her all the very best for this exciting new chapter.

🧸 Kinder Teddy Bear Picnic Adventure! 🧺☀️

Our Kinder children enjoyed a magical Teddy Bear Picnic Day, filled with imagination, curiosity and meaningful learning.

The excitement began with our "What's in the Box?" experience, where the children eagerly predicted what might be hiding inside before discovering a very special surprise Humphrey B Bear! 🐻 The children then watched a classic Humphrey B Bear episode, introducing many of them to this iconic Australian character.

Throughout the day, the children strengthened their communication and critical thinking skills as they shared stories about their favorite teddy bears and explained why they were special. They explored early mathematical concepts by comparing and ordering their bears from the smallest to the largest and used their creativity to draw detailed pictures of both their own teddy bears and Humphrey B Bear.

To finish our special day, we enjoyed a sunny outdoor Teddy Bear Picnic where children shared conversations, imaginative play and laughter with their friends and their treasured teddy bears.

Experiences like these support our School Readiness Program by encouraging confidence in speaking, creative expression, mathematical thinking, social collaboration and a strong sense of belonging all through the joy of play.

🎓💛 Celebrating Our Mid-Year Graduates 💛🎓

We celebrated a very special milestone as we farewelled our mid-year graduates. It has been a true privilege to watch these children grow, learn, and flourish during their time at Nido. Many of them joined us in Classroom 1, taking their very first steps with us, and today we proudly watched them take another big step as they prepare to start school.

Our hearts are filled with pride and gratitude as we reflect on the beautiful memories, friendships, laughter, and learning we have shared together over the years.

A heartfelt thank you to our Early Childhood Teacher, Jodie, and Eva, whose dedication, care, and passion have made this final year so memorable and supported our children to become confident, capable, and school-ready learners.

To our graduates and families, thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. We are incredibly proud of you and wish you every success and happiness in this exciting new chapter. Once part of our Nido family, always part of our Nido family. 💛✨

🚀 School Readiness Through Real-Life Experiences 🚀

Our Flying Start children (3–4 years) recently enjoyed an exciting visit to Golden Grove Primary School as part of our School Readiness Program and valued community partnership.

The children were warmly welcomed by their school buddies, who shared stories and read books together in the school library. This meaningful experience supported children’s confidence, communication skills and sense of belonging within a school environment.

After exploring the library, the children had the opportunity to discover the school playground, with the pirate ship quickly becoming the highlight of the day! Their excitement, curiosity and joy were evident as they climbed, explored and played together.

Through these authentic experiences and strong community partnerships, we are supporting our Flying Start children to develop confidence, independence and positive connections as they prepare for their future learning journey.

Bush Kinder through Children’s Voices 🌿

At Nido Golden Grove North, our Bush Kinder Program is guided by children’s ideas, curiosity and love for nature.

During our Little Leaders meeting, children shared how we can care for Bush Kinder watering plants, using gentle hands, sharing, packing away and respecting nature.

Their ideas for Bush Kinder included flowers, rocks, mud, tomatoes and more opportunities to explore.

Through insect investigations, loose parts, outdoor reading and garden care, children are building confidence, responsibility and a meaningful connection with nature.
