Yesterday, our team got invited to deliver our Bush Medicine Workshop for over 50 staff from Relationships Australia SA 🌿

We loved the opportunity to share knowledges on healing through connection to Country, and the different uses of native plants. Everyone also got to take home their own special bush balm - a reminder of their learning and a way to continue that connection beyond our workshop.

A big thank you to Uncle Mickey O’Brien for welcoming us to be a part of this event. We truly value the support and opportunities provided by our Elders, encouraging us to share culture with the broader community 👐🏾

As part of the Future Studios program at Adelaide Contemporary Experimental last week, two young artists worked alongside our Co-Founder Bryce to carve their own yoko (carrying dish), learning about Aboriginal wood carving and how these practices have adapted and evolved since colonisation while remaining grounded in culture, Country and continuity.

The artists got the opportunity to mix their own ochre, coating the inside of their yoko before carefully etching into the dried surface. Their designs became personal reflections of what “fills their coolamon” – family, community, culture, identity and the responsibilities they carry into the future.

Through this process, each yoko became more than a handmade creation, but a tool representing connection and the enduring strength of culture passed down from generations 🖤 💛 ❤️

Our team had a deadly day a few weeks ago, delivering our Damper Making and Bush Medicine Workshops with the community at Yitpi Yartapuultiku 🔥 🌿

It was a fantastic celebration marking 50 years of NAIDOC Week, bringing people together through culture, connection and hands-on activities. We are proud to continually work alongside Yitpi Yartapuultiku and the City of Port Adelaide Enfield to share Aboriginal culture and knowledge with the wider community.
