Most businesses think they're compliant with the new psychosocial safety laws.

Most aren't.

SafeWork regulators are actively auditing right now, and in most organisations we review, the same three gaps keep showing up:

1. Psychosocial hazards aren't in the risk register.
They're sitting in a separate wellbeing program — not in the formal safety system where regulators expect them.

2. Training is the only control.
Training matters, but regulators want to see it alongside systems-level controls like workload management and job design. It can't carry the compliance burden alone.

3. Board oversight isn't documented.
Directors might be across it verbally, but without minuted discussions and formal reporting, that's a governance gap — with personal liability implications.

The other issue? Risk assessments that lack independence and rigour. A survey and a summary won't cut it.

We've put together a free 5-Minute Audit Readiness Checklist covering the six areas regulators are reviewing. It takes five minutes and gives you a clear picture of where you sit.

👉 Comment "checklist" below or send us a message and we'll get it to you.

Transforming school environments starts with connectedness. In our recent Building School Connectedness Workshop, Salisbury East High School teachers learned key skills and strategies to build stronger bonds among students, teachers, and parents.

If we can build the connectedness of the least connected individuals in a school community, we can greatly decrease the likelihood they will experience emotional distress such as depression and anxiety while also building engagement for better academic outcomes.

Thank you to Salisbury East High School's Principal, Kristen Masters and Amelia Molnar, Middle School Learning and Wellbeing Leader.

A big shoutout to Joanne Edmond, our fantastic team member currently engaged in the Healthy Minds Program with Year 8 students at Bunbury Senior High School in WA. Through imparting targeted psychological skills, we aim to lower the risk of anxiety, depression, and eating disorder symptoms, all while promoting overall wellbeing and resilience.

Kudos to Joanne and the amazing Bunbury Senior High School team!

We're so grateful for our partnership with Pembroke School. Our work with Pembroke is incredibly important to us, and we're proud to be setting a new standard for preventive psychology and cultivating evidence-based psychology skills with the students.

Huge shout out to our very own Dr Catherine Johnson who is currently working with the Year 8 students at Pulteney Grammar School delivering the Healthy Minds Program.

By teaching specific psychological skills we can reduce risk for the onset of symptoms of anxiety, depression & eating disorders, while also enhancing wellbeing and resilience.

Thanks Catherine and the awesome team at Pulteney Grammar School

Great to see our Director, Dr Tom Nehmy, on the road this week with our Mount Gambier-based psychologist and facilitator, Ashleigh Spillman.

Healthy Minds delivered its final sessions to Casterton Secondary College, utilising the Victorian Schools Mental Health Fund, a government initiative by the Victorian Government, aimed at supporting and enhancing mental health and wellbeing in schools.
