Weeks 6 & 7, Term 2
2/6/25-13/6/25
In week 6 we celebrated World Environment Day on June 5th with environmental dioramas, earth puzzles, a nature scavenger hunt and some new winter veggies planted in our front garden!
In week 7 we had a paper hat competition and runway, a series of dance battles to get up and active, started new cross-stitch and embroidery kits with the older children, made a new art deco inspired door sign for our movie room and made mini apple pies.
By far this week, the most popular and immersive activity was the imaginative restaurant play in our home corner! With a letter from Anthony Albanese himself, the children had to redesign and rebrand their KFC restaurant from the ground up to encorporate a newer, healthier menu and adhere to food safety regulations in order to avoid being shut down by the health inspector and the government.

Reconciliation Week 2025
Week 5, Term 2
26/5/25 - 30/5/25
The key theme of Reconciliation Week this year was "Bridging Now to Next", focusing on all Australians stepping ahead and pushing forward to create a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Isander peoples, guided by the lessons of the past.
To encorporate this theme into our programming, we took inspiration from traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artwork, use of symbols, and connections with the earth to create our own artwork, wall displays and crafting activities. We focused on our own relationships with the land and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and how we can move forward together to a better future for everyone.

The masking tape roads in our OSHC room were so well loved by everyone that we continued our road safety learning into week 4!

Term 1, weeks 10&11
31/3 - 11/4

The rest of our activities were themed around Nature Play Week, involving nature and natural elements into our hands-on play. We did Aboriginal dot paintings on tree bark that we collected, made nature soup with beets, lemons and home grown mint leaves from our front garden, did a nature scavenger hunt, painted rocks from outside & made "seed heads" that we watched grow!
