Our Classroom 1 inquiry learning is currently centered around gardening, exploring the question 'Where does our food come from?'. We know that educating children about sustainability is essential for building lifelong habits and respect for the environment.
This question was brought to life from the children's interests, listening to the child's voice as they played with the felt garden resources and showed great interest in this space.
The Classroom 1 children have enjoyed regular visits to the community garden, planting and caring for the different vegetables we currently have growing in this space. Lead educator Steph, made a sign for our garden, visually displaying what's on offer here using recycled materials.
We love watching their ideas and learning emerge 🌿

As part of our celebration of Nido Day on April 29th to recognise our team and the wonderful work they do everyday, Nido made a commitment to shout anyone a coffee that was mentioned in our post to families or on a google review. We had an astounding number of positive feedback from our lovely community of families from this and decided to one up this commitment and organize a Coffee Van Visit to our whole team this morning to extend our appreciation to all of our educators and teachers.☕️🌿

Last Thursday, some of the youngest members of the Nido Taperoo community visited our community garden. They explored walking safely into the community garden space, supported by educators and engaged their senses, exploring different textures. This was one of the first visits out to the garden for the Classroom 1 children. The children thoroughly enjoyed their time here. This will be an ongoing focus to extend on our sustainability goals over the coming months. Watch this space! 🌿

Flying Start 3 Year Old Preschool began yesterday at Nido Early School Taperoo! We had our first visit from Creative Therapy Adelaide, joined by Natalie and Sami, who ran the Shake It Up - Music and Movement program. The children engaged with music based experiences, incorporating the use of musical instruments, sensory materials such as the parachute, action songs and dancing. The program for Term 1 aims to support children to develop their emotional maturity and their physical health and wellbeing. We are so excited to see where our Flying Start program takes us and our learning. Keep your eye out on our page for further updates as the program progresses!

✨ Celebrating Our Amazing Leaders! ✨
Over the last couple of weeks, our wonderful Taperoo team has been showing some much-deserved appreciation to our two incredible leaders — Mardi and Amy.
💛 Mardi was celebrated for Director’s Day, a special moment to recognise everything she does for our centre community. From supporting our children and families to guiding and uplifting our educators, Mardi’s dedication shines through in everything she does.
💜 Amy also had her own special appreciation day! Amy wears many hats within our centre — mentoring educators, supporting day-to-day learning, and stepping into the Family Advocate role with Mardi while their Family Advocate is on maternity leave. Her kindness, guidance, and steady support mean so much to all of us.
To both Mardi and Amy — thank you for your leadership, your compassion, and the joy you bring into our centre every single day. We are so grateful for you!

"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much!"
Nido Taperoo wouldn't be the same without the team we have so last Wednesday we surprised our team with a coffee van attending the service and a morning tea to say a massive thank you for all of their hard work and dedication ☕
