Fish and Chip Shop 🐟
The last couple of months the children have thoroughly enjoyed role playing in the fish and chip shop. It has evolved over time to be put next to a post office in a "food court" also, demonstrating children's ideas growing and changing.
Happy Mother's Day to our beautiful mums who deserve to be spoilt.
With practical and intentional gift giving in mind. The children and I created some care packages with items that will be useful and enjoyable.
Thank you to all the lovely businesses below for all the goodies to make the gifts.

Did you know?
Emotion is closely associated with motion. Moving makes us happy!
We've probably all heard that "exercise produces endorphins, and endorphins make you happy". Movement is good for a number of different reasons, not least of all its impact on our mood. Sometimes kids just need to move, to wiggle and climb, and we provide many different movement opportunities at GymbaROO.

Celebrating 10 years of Back to Nature FDC with the little humans recently was such a lovely moment.
Everyone brought a plate to share and I remade some old favourites from past families that we have in our family daycare recipe book.
A beautiful way to incorporate the past and present.
Thank you to everyone who's been a part of this journey, I wouldnt change a thing!

I recently reached out to my past and present families and asked why they chose Family Daycare and their memories of Back to Nature Family Daycare.
Thank you April for the kind words 🌻

Valentine's Day 10th February 2026
The children all enjoyed the Australia themed party last month so we decided to plan a Valentine's Day one.
Last week, in preparation for the event, we decorated some paper hearts and envelopes to use as decorations for today's Valentine's Day celebrations.
Today we shared some delicious healthy food including fruit salad cut into flowers, cheese and crackers, meat balls with love heart pasta and donuts 🍩 😋
The children all engaged in the shared experience, showing excitement and enthusiasm to share what they brought and taste what their peers shared with them.
Learning Outcomes: 2.1, 3.1, 3.2
Evaluation: Providing these themed days allows the children to learn about different events in our society. it also allows children to try new food in a fun, safe and supported environment with their peers and educator without any pressure. This allows children to develop their health and physical wellbeing.

Last month we started learning about Australia, where we live, where our new penpals live, bush tucker and sea and land animals.
On the 27th January, we had an Australian themed party with damper and sausage rolls 😋 The children all engaged in the shared experience and it opened up a discussion about Australian Food including damper and sausage rolls with tomato sauce.
Learning Outcome - 1.0, 1.1, 2.2
Follow up - (Plan)
1. Continue planning different themed events with engaging learning experiences and shared bring a plate days
