🎶Book Week 2026 - Symphony of Stories 🎶
What a fun week we have had celebrating book week. On Tuesday the children joined in for Greenwith Primary Schools celebration in the hall and on Wednesday the children participated in a parade at kindy.
The highlight for the children was seeing the teachers put on a show. As we dressed up as characters from 'The Very Noisy Bear', we acted out the book for the children!
It was fantastic seeing everyone dressed up!

This week we celebrated and acknowledged all of the hard work and effort of our amazing Early Childhood Educators!
Greenwith Kindergarten couldn't function without you. We thank you for all that you do in helping our little learners reach their full potential.

This sure is one of our favourites!

MUD DAY 2026!

On Monday and Tuesday we celebrated International Mud Day!

Over the two days there were many activities on offer to the children including mud kitchen play, clay, sloppy mud with a range of different toys, wand making, clay slurry, potions, sloppy mud in the mud pit and a muddy puddle at the bottom of the slide! It was so lovely to see the children embrace mud and enjoy getting messy and muddy!
Mud provides an ideal platform for children to immerse themselves in one of natures finest elements and doing so build a lifelong connection to the natural world.
Benefits of mud play:
* Supports the development of fine and gross motor skills
* Calms anxious or frustrated children
* Provides a multi sensory experience
* Is perfect for children to learn about texture
* Supports the release of serotonin
* Supports risk taking
* Encourages unstructured play

We had a fantastic turn out of parents, grandparents and siblings - who all walked away with life long memories.

What an incredible experience we had having Marra Dreaming come and visit us at kindy last week.

During their visit, the children learnt about Aboriginal artifacts (while also getting a turn at holding them), created their own placemat using dot painting, contributed to a group mural and also had a go at weaving a basket for kindy.

Through this incursion, children developed greater cultural awareness and we were able to make connection to Aboriginal people within our community.

We can't thank them enough for coming to kindy to enrich the children with their knowledge and culture. We can't wait to display our group murals we created at kindy.

This term saw us continue our Bush Kindy program. During term 2, both our Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday group attended Bush Kindy at Anstey Hill twice.
During our visits it has been lovely to see the children embrace nature, take risks and use their imagination as they explored the beautiful outdoors. The children have used natural elements to create and engage in play with their peers while exploring and investigating the world around them.
We have been very lucky to see many kangaroos on our visits and this has certainly been a highlight for many children.
We can’t wait to continue our Bush Kindy journey at kindy each year… keep watching what the Greenwith Kindergarten team can do!
~Childhood has always been about climbing trees, getting dirty, walking across wobbly logs and venturing into imaginary worlds. We need to nurture this childhood, we need to take risks and be brave~
