Exciting News for Families! 🚀

We are delighted to announce that our Ashgrove, Cranley, and Wanslea Preschools have joined the South Australian Government’s Flying Start Preschool Program for three year old children.

These centres join Wendy’s Preschool, which has been successfully delivering the Flying Start Program since the beginning of this year.

🍊🎨✨ Our toddlers are continuing their love for exploring fruit, colour, and creativity through hands-on art experiences!
 
Using real fruit to stamp, roll, press, and print, the children discovered different textures, patterns, and shapes while creating beautiful marks and colourful designs. 🌈🖍️
 
These playful experiences support fine motor skills, curiosity, sensory exploration, and creative expression, all while having so much fun! 🍋💛

🎨🍊✨ Creativity came to life in our Toddler space as the children designed their own table cloths using projected images of fruit and light.
 
Using a projector to cast colourful fruit images onto the table, the children explored mark making, colour, light, and shadow in a calm and engaging experience filled with curiosity and wonder. 🌈💡
 
This open-ended experience encouraged creativity, imagination, and exploration as the children followed the shapes, patterns, and colours in their own unique ways. 🍋🖍️

🦷✨ Dental Visit at Wanslea Nursery School and ELC

We were excited to welcome the Dental for Schools team into our centre, giving children a positive and relaxed introduction to visiting the dentist. 💛

These experiences help children become familiar with dental care in a safe environment, building confidence and reducing any fears while promoting the importance of healthy teeth and good hygiene habits. 🪥🌟

A big thank you to the team for supporting our children’s wellbeing and making it such a fun and engaging experience!

👵👦💛 Our Intergenerational Program

Our intergenerational program runs fortnightly, building meaningful relationships between our preschool children and the residents at the local aged care home.

Every fortnight we visit them, and the next fortnight the residents visit us at Wanslea, creating shared experiences, friendships, and moments of joy across generations. 🌸

These connections help children develop respect, empathy, and a deeper understanding of community.

🌿🏡 Preschool Out in the Community

Our preschool children love heading out on excursions and exploring the world beyond our centre. From visits to the local library, walks through our neighbourhood, school connections, and spending time with members of our community, these experiences help children build confidence and a sense of belonging.

Getting out into the community allows children to learn about the world around them, develop independence, and understand what it means to be part of something bigger. 💛

Wanslea was filled with colour, culture, and joy as we celebrated Chinese New Year together. The children explored a range of experiences including making dumplings with playdough, creating festive paintings, and listening to educators sing familiar nursery rhymes and songs in Chinese. 🎶🎨

A special highlight was making and sharing red envelopes (Hóngbāo) 🧧, a traditional gift given during Chinese New Year symbolising good luck, prosperity, and well wishes for the year ahead.

Celebrating cultural traditions helps children build understanding, respect, and curiosity about the world around them. What a beautiful way to learn together! 🌏❤️
