Nature Play Community event this Thursday evening. Thanks Tea Tree Gully for their ongoing support of our local community.

All families past and present as well as local residents welcome to come along.

Food trucks: Taco's, Roast Potatoes, Hot Donuts and coffee and for a gold coin donation you can roast your own marshmellows.

What a fantastic day of SAPSASA Basketball! 🏀👏

For our girls, it was their first ever experience playing organised basketball, and while the wins didn’t come, their improvement from game to game was incredible to watch. Their confidence grew, they kept pushing forward and they showed so much perseverance and determination. 💪

Our boys battled hard, securing two wins before finishing the day with a fantastic win in their final placement game. Their teamwork was outstanding, with some beautiful basketball played throughout the day. 👏🏀

One of the best parts of the day was seeing our girls cheering on the boys — and the boys cheering on the girls. 💙 It was a brilliant reminder that teamwork isn’t just about what happens on the court; it’s about supporting each other off it too.

Across both teams, we saw perseverance, tenacity, drive, respect and plenty of school spirit. Our students represented our school wonderfully, showing great respect to their opponents and taking pride in looking after our playing area.

A huge thank you to our coaches Joe and Lisa for their time, encouragement and support! 🏀🙌

We’ve started a brand-new student club this semester — Chill Out Club! 🌟

It’s a fun mix of art club and games club, giving students the chance to get creative, play some games and simply enjoy some time hanging out with friends. 💛

So far, students have been enjoying crafts, card games and plenty of relaxed fun!

We’re loving seeing our students making the most of this new lunchtime club!

📚✨ A Symphony of Stories — Book Week 2026! ✨📚

What a beautiful day celebrating our love of books and storytelling! 💛

Our school was buzzing with excitement as students, staff and families came together for our Book Week Parade. From favourite characters to creative costumes, it was wonderful to see everyone bring their favourite stories to life. 📖🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️🐻

A huge thank you to our incredible families and community for joining us and making the morning so special. There was so much joy, laughter and pride as we celebrated together — and the brilliant sunshine made it even better! ☀️

We feel so lucky to have such a wonderful community that comes together to celebrate our students and their love of reading. 💕📚

🔬✨ SCIENCE WEEK at Highbury! ✨🔬

Last week we celebrated SCIENCE WEEK at Highbury, with lots of exciting science activities happening around the school!

Our students had a fantastic time getting hands-on with science, including:
☀️ Building solar ovens using cardboard, foil, plastic and other materials to harness the sun’s energy and try to melt chocolate!
💎 Growing crystals in salt water using pipe cleaners.
🌱 Growing their own grass hair in cups and watching it grow.
💥 Experiencing the fun of a Mentos explosion experiment!

There were also some fantastic Science Week poster colouring-ins completed by our students.

It was wonderful to see so much curiosity, creativity and excitement for science across the school!
