Matching Fun & Learning! 🌈

Our children enjoyed a hands-on matching activity using colourful feathers, pom-poms, craft sticks, and other materials.

They carefully looked at the examples and matched the colours, shapes, and textures to the corresponding pictures.

This simple experience supported visual discrimination, concentration, colour recognition, fine motor skills, and the ability to follow instructions, while encouraging the children to engage and learn together 💚✨

Our Tiny Tots have been bringing some much-loved Book Week stories to life through sensory and creative play! 💚

🐛 The Very Hungry Caterpillar Painting 🐛

The children explored different shades of green as they created their own caterpillar-inspired paintings, developing their creativity, colour recognition, and mark-making skills.

🐠 The Rainbow Fish Playdough Sensory Table 🐠

Inspired by The Rainbow Fish, the children explored playdough, colourful loose parts, and textured materials as they created, manipulated, and experimented with the resources. This open-ended experience encouraged fine motor development, sensory exploration, imagination, and creative expression.

📚 Book Week in the Toddler Room! 📚

Our little learners in the Toddler Room went on a big adventure with the book “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!”

They loved the story, the song, and all the actions 🐻

We then set up a sensory walk from the book. Wavy grass, a splashy river, oozy mud, a forest of leaves and twigs, and cotton-wool snow. So much squishing and giggling!

We also read the book “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” and set up a sensory tray with blue rice, little boats, and rubber ducks for scooping, pouring, and rowing along to the song.

Best of all, Where’s Wally! We hid Wally posters around the Centre and the children loved hunting for them 🔍

We were lucky enough to welcome Nadia Clancy MP into our Kindy room to share the joy of storytelling and read some wonderful stories with the children.
