To support the children’s imagination and creativity skills, our Wartu children had the opportunity to take their learning within their outdoor space and connect with nature in ways that influenced them.

We value our connection with families throughout the centre, and this week we had one of our mothers share a favourite story with our Wadla children.

What a wonderful opportunity this was for our children. Building connections with people who mean the most to us!

There is something special about children building on their natural curiosities throughout play. The Kurtaka children had a blast learning to pour and watching what happened.

Reading is such a valuable learning opportunity to build children’s language a communication skills. Our Kurtaka children have been exploring ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ with their children, allowing them to use their imagination in creative ways.

There is nothing better than children connecting to nature through painting. Our Wartu and Yaltu children used their creative imaginations whilst painting with sand.

This was a great collaborative experience where children built connections with one another for Reconciliation Week.

This week, our Nantu children enjoyed hands-on play and storytelling for Reconciliation Week. They focused on the special Dreaming story called ‘Kondoli the Whale’.

To bring the story to life, the children engaged in a fun sensory tray to explore the themes in the story. It was wonderful to see so many of the children pointing out the characters and remembering the special parts of the story.

Our Kurtaka and Kardi children have been building on their independence skills. Through a tipping and pouring experience, the children naturally learnt how to control the water building their physical strength and refining their motor control.

This week, our Yaltu children used natural resources from our garden such as leaves, bark and sticks to paint and make prints.

This encouraged the children to look at the texture of the materials, exploring what they feel and use their creativity and imagination skills to create all sorts of prints on the paper.
