Day 100 of the .and in the dress.
It turned out to be a really easy challenge to complete. By about day 40 I was completely in love with not having to think in the morning. The wool has kept its shape, its colour and proven to be rather versatile to all sorts of weather and clothing configurations.
As I’ve always suspected, no one pays enough attention to people to notice when they wear the same clothes - even when those clothes don’t change. And the few people who did notice quickly brought into the challenge idea .
I failed in the goal of not washing the dress for 100 days. It ended up getting about 8 full washes and numerous spot washes - not because it stank or felt unclean - but because I am really uncoordinated when I eat or cook.
I’ve hated the photos, but like having 100 days of memories. I have a newfound appreciation for getting changed into PJS and looking after the clothes you’ve been wearing.
I’ve thought a lot more about my clothing choices, the type of material we buy and the impact of washing clothes, and hopefully you have too.
Thank you to all who have cheered me on, had conversations (with or about me) and followed on the journey. You can go back to having people who look like they care about being on instagram back in your feeds now.
But first one final photo. (And the first for memories)
