Beyond Early Learning Blackwood

What began as a beautiful moment of curiosity, quickly evolved into a project full of wonder and endless questions. When Tori discovered caterpillars, Preschool One embraced the opportunity to become researchers, observers and care takers. Together we watched closely as our tiny visitors transformed into a chrysalis and emerged as a Monarch Butterfly.

Through this journey, the children shared theories, documented observations and experienced the magic of transformation firsthand. A reminder that some of the most meaningful learning begins with a simple discover and the curiosity to ask “what will happen next?”. 🐛

Today at Beyond Blackwood, we gathered together to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice and spirit of the ANZACs.

Through a simple ceremony, moments of reflection and meaningful conversations, the children were invited to explore what it means to show respect, kindness and gratitude for those who came before us.

Our Nursery Two children laid our wreath at the end of the ceremony.

Our Easter Hat Parade 🐰🌿

Full of creativity, colour and big smiles as the children proudly wore their hats they made themselves. From feathers to flowers to bunny ears and beyond, each hat told its own little story.

Another beautiful day exploring the wonders of Wittunga Botanic Gardens 🌱

Our Nursery and Preschool children spent the morning immersing in nature, looking for turtles, discovering new wildlife and exploring the smells of the flowers and fauna.

These experiences continue to inspire the children’s sense of wonder, creativity and respect for the land and natural world.

The Beyond Blackwood children’s delicious luncheon to celebrate Persian New Year 2026

Today at Beyond Blackwood we are welcomed the Lunar New Year with joy, connection and tradition as we celebrate the year of the horse.

Our children and educators explored tradition through art, music, shared story telling about culture and of course, food! It was a beautiful opportunity to honour the many languages of our community and learn from one another 🎉🪭🧧

Preschool Two children have been working on a project about bowerbirds, inspired by the story Bowerbird Blues by Aura Parker. It has been exciting to hear the thoughts of the children, imaginative play and the creative work emerge. This work is Beyond Blackwood’s point of difference as it truely captures how we work alongside children and view them as capable and very competent learners 🌱🔹🪶

Our children explored the beauty of Diwali through the languages of clay and light, creating their own representations of this special celebration.

Through touch, texture, and illumination, they discovered how light brings warmth, connection, and joy to our world.
