π Every day at school counts!
Regular attendance makes a real difference to childrenβs learning, friendships, wellbeing and confidence at school.
It can be surprising how quickly occasional absences add up. As the graphic shows:
Missing 1 day a fortnight adds up to around 20 days of learning each year
Missing 1 day each week adds up to around 40 days each year
Missing 2 days each week adds up to around 80 days each year
Over the course of a childβs schooling, that can mean years of missed learning opportunities.
We understand that children will sometimes need to be away from school, particularly when they are unwell. Our message isnβt about children attending when they shouldnβt, itβs about making every possible school day count.
If your child is experiencing difficulties that are affecting their attendance, please reach out to us. We would much rather work alongside families to understand what is happening and help children feel supported to attend regularly. π
Every day at school is another opportunity to learn, connect and belong.
