Recently, Valley View celebrated the tiny pollinators that make a huge impact on our world! The children investigated and explored the importance of bees through sensory experiences. The children enjoyed feeling the rice running through their fingers and experimented with different resources and textures.

WEEKLY GROCERY SHOP π
Recently, the Kindy 1 Supermarket was set up, giving children the opportunity to extend on their dramatic play interest through a shopping experience. The children took on roles of customers and workers, using different resources to support the real-life situation. As children scanned the groceries through the checkout, some even added their own βbeep beepβ sounds to match the scanner, helping bring the dramatic play experience to life.

From 27 May to 3 June, we come together to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.
Reconciliation starts with all of us, including our youngest learners. Through moments of curiosity, storytelling, music, art and connection, children begin to build understanding, respect and a sense of belonging.
Because every small conversation, shared experience and learning moment helps us to build towards a more inclusive future, together.

FROM TRASH TO TREASURE β»π
Toddler 1 has recently extended on their current interest in construction with recycled materials! The children enjoyed collaborating together as they stacked boxes and cardboard tubes, created their own train, decorated boxes with their own drawings, and even used masking tape to connect them all together - the limits were endless!
This handsβon activity supported their construction skills, fostered teamwork and collaboration, promoted sustainability and encouraged child-led learning!

βοΈ Kindy 2 Hairdressers βοΈ
Recently, Kindy 2 were invited to become hairdressers as extension on their interest in dramatic play. The children drew faces on their cardboard pieces to create their client, then used scissors to trim and style the βhair,β engaging in imaginative beauty routines and role-play. This activity supported fine motor skills, scissor control, creativity, and social communication while encouraging children to explore real-life roles and engage in collaborative play.

Recently, our Kindy 1 children worked collaboratively to create a special Friendship Blanket, painting symbols of what their room means to them, including hearts, rainbows and happy faces. As they shared ideas, encouraged one another and contributed to a collective project, the children strengthened their sense of belonging and connection within their learning environment.

Recently, to extend on Toddler 1's creative expression interest, they were invited to dip different lengths of string into vibrant paints before carefully arranging them on their paper. The children then folded the paper in half and practised their coordination by pressing down with one hand while using the other to steadily pull the string out. The children enjoyed opening the paper to discover unique, symmetrical masterpieces!

Mother's Day Pamper Session π
This morning we celebrated all of the amazing mothers and special women at Valley View with a relaxing pamper session. Families enjoyed colouring stations, nail painting, face masks and a delicious morning tea while spending quality time with their child/ren. It was so wonderful to see families come together to connect and celebrate one another.

Recently, the Tiny Tots engaged in sensory experience where children crawled, explored and used a variety of materials such as pom poms, feathers and paper to create a shared interactive space. This hands-on activity supported both fine and gross motor development as children manipulated materials, practiced coordination and built confidence through movement and exploration.
