One Question

We are launching a new AWBR video series, bringing together members of our community to answer one question that matters to the wine business today.

Short questions. Focused answers. Different perspectives from researchers working across the global wine industry.

For our first episode, Dr Armando Corsi answers:

What makes a wine brand truly resilient today?

What does it take for a wine brand not only to succeed, but to remain relevant and competitive as markets, consumers and the industry itself continue to change?

Watch Armando’s answer and follow AWBR as we continue the series with new questions, new perspectives and more voices from our international community. We’re excited to share them with you!

A very special day for the Hungarian wine community! Today, seven new Masters of Wine were announced, including Sue Tolson MW, the first Hungary-based Master of Wine.

We are especially happy to celebrate Sue’s achievement as she will be joining us as a speaker at AWBR Tokaj 2027. Sue’s work has long been closely connected to Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe, and her MW Research Paper focused on regional identity in Szekszárd, exploring the role of Kékfrankos, Kadarka and Bikavér, together with the Szekszárd Bottle.

Huge congratulations to Sue on this incredible achievement! We are very much looking forward to welcoming her to Tokaj next year and hearing her insights at AWBR Tokaj 2027.

Behind every great research paper is a question worth asking.

Our Steering Committee is made up of researchers whose work helps shape the future of the global wine industry.

This week, we are featuring research by Dr Natalia Velikova and Dr Deidre Popovich.
How does nutrition labelling on wine influence consumers' perceptions and purchase decisions?

Their research shows that nutrition information does influence how consumers perceive wine—but not always in the way we might expect. In particular, consumers respond more strongly to sugar information than to calorie information, while serving size and individual dietary habits also play an important role.

Swipe through to explore the research and discover the key insights.

Congratulations to Natalia and Deidre on this excellent contribution to wine business research.
