One of the wonderful families at our centre brought in caterpillars from their garden. We have placed them in a glass tank in our Kindy room and have been watching them closely. On Thursday 14/3/24, our first โMonarch Butterflyโ emerged from its chrysalis. A week later, we had another 4 butterflies emerge within the space of 24hours. We placed them on our milkweed plant in the yard and watched them fly away. Four more caterpillars have transformed into chrysalis and we can not wait to see more beautiful butterflies. The kindy children have displayed a strong interest in the life cycle of a butterfly and have displayed enthusiasm throughout this learning experience. ๐ฆ๐ฟ

๐จโ๐ณ COOKING ๐ฉโ๐ณ
In January we put our cooking skills to the test and celebrated Australia Day by making damper. We made two different flavours. One cheese and the other rosemary - delicious ๐ฆ๐บ
Yesterday, to celebrate Pancake Day, our cook made the under 2โs and pre-kindy children pancakes, whilst the kindy children made their own pancakes. They were delicious. We topped them with butter or strawberry jam. Amongst one another we spoke about our favourite pancake toppings which includedโฆ maple syrup, strawberries, peanut butter, Nutella, and many more ๐ฅyum yum!

On the 29th of November we were super fortunate to have Police officers Paul and Amanda come and visit us in their police car. We got to explore the car and all the different parts of their police uniform. We were all very enthusiastic to sit in the back seat and drivers seat of the police car. Our favourite part was the loud, flashing blue and red sirens. Thank you Paul and Amanda for a wonderful experience. We look forward to having you come back out in the future๐ฎโโ๏ธ๐๐จ ๐ฎ

๐ฆ๐ฆThe Kindy children have been busy making bird feeders! The children have shown fine motor skills and persistence to thread the food onto the ring and then chosen where to hang them in our yard! Hopefully we get to see many birds enjoying a snack! ๐ฆ๐ฆ
