National Reconciliation Week 2026 🖤❤️

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2026, themed ‘All In’, calls on all Australians to play an active role in advancing reconciliation each and every day. It reminds us that reconciliation is not a spectator sport, it requires commitment, reflection and meaningful action from us all. 🤝

At SFX, Weeks 5 and 6 provided rich opportunities for students to engage more deeply with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions. Highlights included a cohort Liturgy to commemorate National Sorry Day, the planting of seven native trees in our Bulturro-Pari (Kaurna) Garden as a symbol of ongoing commitment, and a fundraising initiative supporting the Tjindu Foundation. Students also explored First Nations perspectives through curated short films and participated in Aboriginal games during Physical Education and daily fitness activities.

Throughout the week, our school bell also celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices through music by artists such as Midnight Oil, King Stingray, Mitch Tambo, Briggs and Baker Boy. 🎶

National Reconciliation Week is a time to learn from our shared past and walk forward together. As a community, we remain committed to listening, learning and taking action to build a more just, equitable and reconciled Australia for future generations. 💙🌏

Our school will be supporting the St Vincent de Paul Society Winter Appeal beginning in Week 6, and we warmly invite our community to help us support those in need. 💙

We will be collecting non-perishable items such as canned meat, tinned fruit, rice, canned vegetables, baked beans, and other pantry staples. Donations can be sent with your child to their classroom. 🥫🫙

As part of this initiative, we will also host a Pyjackie Day on Thursday, 26 June. Students are invited to come dressed in their pyjamas, trackies, or casual clothes and bring along a donation for the Winter Appeal. This will also be the final day for donations. 👚👕

Thank you for your generosity and support in making a difference to those in our community. ✨🌏
