ABOUT ME
My name is Barry Tattersall and I am a qualified teacher with over 15 years experience in the subject areas of Mathematics, Physics and Science. I have taught in Australia in both interstate and rural settings and have also taught overseas. This has given me extensive experience teaching the International Baccalaureate programme, GCSC, SACE, and the VCE. With my wealth of knowledge and experience, I can determine the learning style of each individual student and deliver the tutoring sessions in a lesson format, thereby catering to each student’s learning needs and optimising their educational outcomes.
I use interactive activities and encourage students to apply their knowledge to real life problem-solving. The tutoring sessions I deliver both online and face-to-face; are engaging, creative, meaningful and interactive. I believe learning should be fun and therefore I create and deliver the tutoring sessions with this as a focus. I use a variety of contemporary learning techniques and innovative teaching practices, to promote understanding in the different subject areas I cover.
I incorporate mentoring into the tutoring sessions to assist students who are requiring help with organisation and study skills, time management, strategies on how to structure homework, understanding performance standards and criteria for assessment, helping students use technology to enhance their learning and structuring assignments.
