This casual role (3–10 hrs/week) involves creating safe, supported environments for children to spend time with their parent or family member, keeping detailed notes and reports, and working closely with solicitors, therapists, and other professionals.

Due to growing demand, we’re looking for two new Family Engagement and Support Educators to join our team immediately. This role is part of our Family Engagement and Support Educator Program, which provides layered and responsive support to families navigating complex needs, including disability, trauma, and child protection concerns.

– Experienced and knowledgeable in supporting families living with disability

– Capable of working flexibly across Adelaide, including early mornings, after-hours, and occasional weekends
👣 What you’ll do
– Support families in their homes and communities
– Model and coach practical parenting strategies, including those informed by allied health and NDIS goals
– Help implement routines and disability-informed positive behaviour supports
– Build parenting capacity with kindness, clarity, and consistency
– Promote child safety, secure attachment, and development
✅ What you need
– Experience or qualifications in early childhood education and care, social work, community services, disability, or related fields
– WWCC, RRHAN, First Aid in Education and Care, Driver's licence & insured vehicle
– Clear communication and documentation skills
– Confidence to work independently and collaboratively

We are seeking a talented, dedicated and reliable Family Engagement and Support Educator to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide personalised care and support to children and caregivers in their home and community environments. Key Responsibilities
As a Little Petal FESE, you will:
• Create a child-safe home environment
• Fulfil duty of care obligations under National law
• Report suspected child harm, abuse, or neglect
• Supervise and support the daily routine of children
• Provide resources to support caregiver capacity
• Support children with developmental and physical needs
• Offer guidance on child development
• Supervise parent-child contact visits
• Assist with everyday tasks and enhance life skills
• Transport families to appointments, school, shopping, and outings
Essential Requirements and Qualifications
• Current DHS Working with Children Check
• National Police Clearance
• Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent, or higher.
• Current HLTAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting
• Completed Child Safe Environments training
• Completed Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect training
• Experience working with children and families living with disabilities
• Sound knowledge of child development needs
• Sound knowledge of trauma-informed practice
• Current and valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle for transporting children and caregivers
Desirable Qualifications
• Training related to trauma, attachment, and children's therapy
Required Attributes
• Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children
• Sound knowledge of child protection laws
• Exceptional patience and ability to remain calm
• Effective communication with an engaging demeanour
• Creativity, compassion, and professionalism
• Fun and enthusiastic attitude
• Ability to devise creative ideas to educate and engage children
• Adaptability in ensuring the well-being and development of children
• Non-judgmental approach
Additional Requirements
• Physical capability for tasks involving sitting on the floor, bending, and standing for extended periods (some lifting may be involved)
• Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check
• Flexible approach to work rosters to support families with unique needs
We are an outreach service operating across Adelaide, South Australia. This role involves travel within the region as part of your responsibilities.
