The most effective way to prevent young people from suffering in silence is effective early intervention. This includes more support in schools and the community, where young people can get support as soon as they notice a problem.
Hatch is focused on achieving these goals:
• helping young people look after their own mental health.
Providing teens with reassurance and advice to help them make positive choices for their mental health and know what to do next if they’re struggling.
• making sure young people have adults around them who can really help.
Whenever a young person opens up about their mental health to an adult they trust, we want to help them confide in someone who really gets it and can respond positively.

When the frame in which someone views a situation is shifted, the meaning changes, and thinking and behaviour often change along with it. 🧠⚡️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
An easy trick to reframe your mind is to swap the words "I have to" to "I get to"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"I have to do a really difficult assignment."
"I get to challenge myself and learn something new."

Give it a try 💡 ⚡️

In the lead up to "the end", the pressures of the final year at school and the term 4 wrap-up can challenge the wellbeing of our teens.
have released a new study as the lead up to final year exams sees a new wave of wellbeing issues face teens. These challenges can manifest in our mental or physical health and so it’s important we know how to offer support for a healthy mind and body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reach Out identifies some signs of stress to include feeling moody or overwhelmed, difficulties with decision making, a lack of motivation, muscle tension, headaches, and fidgeting. People experience exam stress for a variety of reasons, from worrying they might fail or wanting to do really well, to dealing with pressure from family members or teachers or struggling to understand the things they’re studying. Everyone experiences stress differently, and everyone has different reasons for being stressed in the lead up to exams.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They highlight the key to looking after a young person’s wellbeing is to have them:
⚡️Prioritise the activities they enjoy. Study will be more productive when there’s time for things that are fun!
⚡️Encourage them to ask for help. Get a coach in your corner to boost your confidence or a tutor who can fill in the gaps.
⚡️Parents – be a pillar of support, a listening ear and a place for soft landings.
⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But most importantly our young people should always remember that you are not your grades, pump the breaks on the pressure and know that your best is good enough!
