Nido Early School Black Forest

Today was a wonderful opportunity for hands on learning as children from across all classrooms came together to plant new vegetables, fruits and herbs in our Piazza veggie patch. With eager little hands digging, planting and watering. This was a great experience for the children to spend time outdoors discovering how the food we eat grows. 🪴 🥒

On Thursday we wore our Jeans in support of Jeans for genes day! We would like to give a big thank you to all of our families and educators that got involved and helped us raise awareness for children living with genetic conditions, your support means a lot! 🩵

This morning our Toddler 1 class adventured out on an excursion to our local park! They enjoyed exploring the park and the nature whilst playing with their friends on the playground. We had so much fun and we can’t wait for more excursions soon! 🌿

Last week at Black Forest both our children and staff were excited to be involved with national pyjama week!

The children enjoyed being in their comfy pyjamas all week and to make it extra special activities with a special treat of choc-chip muffins made by Chef Brad!

At Nido, we're proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week across all our early schools. 💛🖤❤️
This week, our children will explore the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through meaningful learning experiences, storytelling, art, music and connection.
By celebrating NAIDOC Week, we're helping nurture respect, curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the world's oldest continuing cultures - creating opportunities for children to learn from the past, connect with the present and help shape a more inclusive future.
We can't wait to share some of the wonderful moments from our celebrations throughout the week.

This week creativity bloomed in Classroom 2 as the children explored arts and crafts using natural resources from the yard! This experience allowed the children to explore their creativity and see how natural resources can be used in different environments and serve different purposes 🍃

On Thursday, our centre enjoyed participating in our More Than Sports session. All of our children had a fantastic time building their skills and engaging in the drills with their friends!
We played some sorting games to get things started, and then used soccer balls to practice throwing and kicking.
It was wonderful to see all the children joining in, supporting one another, and having fun while staying active!
We are excited to see more incursions at Nido Black Forest moving forward!
