Students got hands-on with STEM careers through an exciting session with Aspire UC! 🔬🌿⚙️

From investigating fingerprints and solving a biscuit-theft mystery as forensic scientists, to building floating boats, exploring rocks and minerals, designing rainforest ecosystems and engineering solutions to retrieve objects from a drain, students tackled real-world challenges through creativity, teamwork and problem-solving.

The session showed students that STEM is so much more than science and maths — it opens the door to hundreds of careers where curiosity, collaboration and innovative thinking can make a difference.

Community Connections 💙

Our students recently enjoyed a wonderful community luncheon at the Anglican Church, where they connected with local community members and invited everyone to our upcoming Gruffalo play! 🐭🌳

A huge thank you to the Anglican Church for their generous donation, which will help cover transport costs for our upcoming excursions, including our Cooma Art & History Excursion. We are so grateful for your support! 💕

The title of the Dr. Seuss book says it all: Oh, the Places You Will Go!

Earlier this term, our relieving principal Emily Shumack attended a Principal Induction Conference where one of the presenters was Dr. Leticia Anderson, a former Adaminaby Public School student. Dr. Anderson fondly recalled participating in school performances and the Easter Hat Parade.

🏉 Exciting times at Adaminaby!

We had Kris Zusak join us to kick off our 5 week Rugby League program making great use of our new goal posts. Our students are getting active through this program, sharpening their teamwork, coordination, and skills with rugby league drills.

There’s plenty of energy, encouragement, and determination on display — we can’t wait to see their progress over the coming weeks! Keep up the great work, team! 💪

Sometimes our students are with us for what feels like such a short time, but that doesn’t make their place in our school any smaller.

In a small school, friendships form quickly, connections run deep, and even a short chapter can be filled with memories that last much longer.

When we say goodbye to one of our much-loved students we’re sad their time with us has come to an end, but very grateful for all the moments, laughs and memories we got to share along the way.

Some people are part of our school for years, others for just a little while, but they all become part of the story.

Science Week has seen our students taking part in a range of STEM challenges, but we’ve also been looking at how STEM can connect with learning across the curriculum.

Today, a simple Skittles and water experiment gave us a chance to observe how colour dissolves, spreads and moves through water.

We then carried those observations into Visual Arts, using them to explore watercolour techniques. We could see how pigment moves with water, how the amount of water changes the result, and what happens when colours meet and blend.

It was a simple activity, but a great example of how STEM can help students make connections, ask questions and apply their understanding in different ways.
