Horse Vision Centre

Do you have a thoroughbred or standardbred horse sitting in a paddock doing nothing and you would like him/her to be doing more. We have a place available in our school equine assisted learning program for such a horse. Your horse would be handled daily and learn new things on the days the program is running. Free agistment is offered for the right horse. The horses run in a herd as part of the program is to observe the herds interactions and body language. Students learn to set boundaries, live in the present with the focus always on solutions not problems. Our equine facilitators wellbeing is always at the forefront of any decision regarding the program. Please pm me if you feel you may have a suitable horse or would like more information.

Our long time therapist Mr Darcy has retired so we are looking for another off the track horse to take his place. We offer subsidised agistment in Acton Park for the use of your horse in our Equine Assisted Learning program. Your horse will be trained as an equine therapist and cared for by our staff and volunteers. Vet, feet, teeth and feed costs remain the responsibility of the owner. The successful applicant will need to make a 6 month commitment of one day per week to the position. Training in horse care will be given by trained staff and other volunteers. Double straight loading float in good condition. New brakes, recently redone electrics, floor and paint job. Light weight 920 tare. Tows well. In very good condition for its age.

The volunteer position is being involved in caring for the horses not training in EAL/T. It is for people who love horses but don't have the possibility to spend time with and learn about them.
