🚨 (Disclaimer- I am not a vet. This is not veterinary advice. If your dog is bitten by a snake rush them straight to your local vet asap. The information I am giving is what worked for me in an emergency situation when no vets were available.) 🚨
I have been hesitant to post this but if I can help 1 dogs life saved it will be worth it. Coming into last summer I had a female dog bitten in my front yard by an Eastern Brown Snake on a Sunday. I rushed to my front yard within 2 minutes she had lost control of her bladder and was motionless. Living in a rural area on a Sunday I tried my 3 local vets no one answered so I had to take action myself and quick. I was told by a scientist/vet to follow these steps if no vet care was readily available or until you could get to a vet. So I leaped into action with these following steps below which worked for me in an emergency situation. Again if this happens get your dog strait to your local vet asap.
1- Ni****ne patches on the bare skin (6mg x3). She was motionless. Within 30 seconds of the ni****ne patches on her she was awake and lively. Ni****ne helps carry the neurotoxins away from the brain and helps lower the perception of pain and physical stress. It so important to keep your dog resting and calm.
2- Liposomal liquid vitamin C down the throat 30mg every hour for 24 hours.
3- Bentonite clay or activated charcoal as a binder to help clear the venom out of the system.
I done this every hour in 4 cups of chicken broth with electrolytes so they are clearing out the poison through there bladder and kidneys. Amazingly I got her to the vets first thing Monday morning and they were amazed by her full recovery. I put on fresh ni****ne patches every 24hours for 7 days and she has made a full recovery without antivenin. I was not against the antivenin at the vets but they said she didn’t need it as her vitals were completely normal. She has regular vet check ups and she is 100% healthy.
Snakes are amazing creatures and they have their place so it’s best to train your dogs for snake avoidance or snake proof your yard as best you can. I hope this helps save at least 1 dogs life.
