Our service is truly blessed to have such incredibly compassionate and dedicated educators, and to be surrounded by a community of children and families who support us so wholeheartedly. 💙
Thank you to everyone involved for making such a meaningful difference this Christmas!
Honouring Hayden’s memory through the gift of giving 💙
Lauren Flett has found a beautiful way to honour the memory of her partner, Hayden Moth, by spreading joy to others this Christmas. Hayden, an adolescents and young adults (AYA) patient at Calvary Mater Newcastle, was loved for his kindness, warmth and genuine care for others.
Hayden’s final wish was to spend Christmas 2024 at home surrounded by his family and loved ones. While he was able to fulfil this wish, it sadly became his last Christmas.
In his honour, Lauren and her co-workers at Story House Early Learning Aberglassyn organised a heartfelt gift collection for our AYA patients and the children and grandchildren of Calvary Mater Newcastle patients. The children even helped choose and wrap the gifts themselves, learning the true spirit of Christmas along the way.
These gifts will be shared across the hospital by our Social Work team, helping spread warmth, kindness and Hayden’s legacy this festive season. 💫
A big heartfelt thank you to everyone involved.

On our recent visit to the Rutherford Park Care Community, we shared a truly heartwarming intergenerational experience. The residents invited us to play a fun game of “Planet Throw,” taking turns and sharing lots of smiles along the way.
Our children then proudly performed their graduation recitals, which were met with great pleasure and enthusiasm from the residents. We also showcased some amazing talents with cartwheels, splits, and the floss dance, bringing laughter and joy to everyone involved.
Before we left, the residents surprised each child with a beautiful knitted doll, a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to us all.
We are incredibly grateful for our connection with the Rutherford Park Care Community. These intergenerational experiences nurture empathy, kindness, and care, showing just how powerful and meaningful relationships can be between young and old
