Delicious sand cakes were on the menu today at playgroup with our friends from Anita's little explorers family day care

Adding water to sand transforms the play into a rich imaginative experience, allowing children to mould, mix and create things encouraging creativity experimentation, and pretend play!

We have had many discussions about all the beautiful Christmas tree's we have seen...
How tree's are big and small, how some are green, some are white and even pink.
We have talked about how some tree's have lights, some are decorated with one colour, and some are decorate with many colours.
We looked some tree inspiration pictures up on the ipad and then used water colour paints to paint and decorate a Christmas tree 🎄

What is brewing in the Witch's kitchen?
One of our favourite stories to read around the time of Halloween is Nick Sharratts "What's in the witch's kitchen?"

The Children created their own magical potions in little cauldrons, watching the fizzy concotions explode, combing imaginative play with sensory and science exploration.

We explored sensory play with goop and monster trucks— mixing the goop from scratch, rolling the trucks through it and squishing it between our fingers as the texture changed. It was a messy and fun experience!!

The children have been engaged in imaginative play this morning. They are interacting with each other to create a play space, then act out their own scenarios with the paw patrol characters.
