Do you know a young person aged 12 to 15 who’s interested in 🗣️ debating, 🏛️ politics, 🗳️ democracy, or making a difference in their community? Why not apply for Junior Parliament 2026!

This year’s program runs from 6 to 8 October at the Adelaide Convention Centre and Parliament of South Australia. Participants will receive hands-on training in 📚 parliamentary processes, bill development, debating, and more! They’ll also have the unique chance to create their own Bill and debate it in Parliament House.

Our Year 10 students have been busy discovering the colourful side of science! 🔥🔬

During a recent chemistry practical, they learned how burning different metal salts can change the colour of a flame.

This happens because the electrons in the metals become 'excited' and release energy as bright, unique colours. It was a fantastic hands-on lesson showing the wonders of chemistry in action!

Ever wondered what it’s like to host an international student? The Crawford family recently participated in our Japanese student hosting program for the very first time and they wanted to share their experience:

We are extremely proud to announce that year 11 students, Cooper D, Caleb B, Jethro A. and Jake C. have successfully progressed through the WorldSkills selection process and earned their place at the WorldSkills Australia VETiS Regional Competition Finals 🛠️💧⚡💡

They will be representing Aberfoyle Park High School at PEER on 28 August, competing against some of the best young plumbing talent in the region. This achievement is a testament to their dedication, skill and hard work.

🌟 Congratulations to Bailee S, one of our amazing School Captains, who recently attended the International Dance Representation in Hong Kong from 31 July to 7 August! 🌏💃

Bailee’s talent shone as she performed with her dance troupe in the Hong Kong Disneyland parade, at Ocean Park and at Kowloon City Plaza.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Bailee was also chosen as the dance captain for her studio during these performances!

What an incredible achievement and experience—well done, Bailee! 👏✨

𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐢 𝐇𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐲𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏 𝐭𝐨 𝟗 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 🇯🇵🎌🇯🇵

We were excited to host 17 students from Kandai Hokuyo High School along with 17 APHS ambassadors for a fantastic week of cultural exchange (from 1 to 9 August) and new friendships! The group enjoyed an Adelaide city excursion 🏙️, including a visit to the university campus, SA Museum and Art Gallery and Central Market. They explored the beautiful Adelaide Hills 🌄 with stops at Mt. Lofty Summit, Cleland Wildlife Park 🦘 and Hahndorf.

Special lessons were a highlight, featuring Anzac biscuit making 🍪, a First Nations cultural lesson and joining a Japanese senior class. Last weekend ended with a farewell party 🎉 full of classic Australian activities, dancing (Nutbush and the Macarena 💃), and lots of fun.

Outside school, our host families provided many authentic Aussie experiences, like visiting beaches and enjoying BBQs 🍔. The visiting students were particularly impressed by our stunning coastline and delicious local food.

It was a very successful and memorable Study Tour for everyone involved! Thank you to all the Host Families, Students and Staff who helped make this happen.

Congratulations to Ms Cobiac, our Design and Technology Coordinator, who as a Team Manager for School Sport SA 's 13 to 19 years interstate swimming team, has been honoured with a School Sport Australia Service Award! 🏅

School Sport SA, which runs sports programs and competitions on behalf of the Department for Education SA, provides fantastic opportunities for our students to stay active, healthy and connect with new peers.

Our school regularly participates in these events, and our students greatly benefit from the supportive environment that Ms Cobiac and the team create. 👏
