🌍 21 September — International Day of Peace

On the occasion of the United Nations International Day of Peace, EFPM President Philippe Housiaux shares a message on the power of sport and Fair Play to contribute to a culture of peace.

Through his message, the EFPM President also introduces EFPM’s new international campaign:

“Fair Play: A Daily Practice of Peace”

The campaign invites everyone to make Fair Play a part of everyday life — through respect, solidarity, inclusion, dialogue and positive action.

The new school year has begun, and with it, school sports competitions are getting underway once again. Students from across Slovakia are returning to sports fields, courts and athletics tracks to represent their schools, give their best performance and strive for success. Sport, however, is not only about results, medals and victories. Equally important are the values that young people take away from sport – respect, honesty, helping others and fair play.

The Fair Play Card highlights and promotes these values. The concept is being implemented in cooperation with the Fair Play Club of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee and the National Institute of Education and Youth (NIVaM).

Be fair. Respect your opponent.
Help when help is needed.

Maybe the next fair play story will happen at one of your school sports competitions – and you can be part of it.

Champions of Fair Play 🤝 | Dakar Rally 2026

Fair play can happen anywhere — even in the toughest conditions of the Dakar Rally.

When Aleš Loprais’s truck overturned in the dunes, Lithuanian driver Vaidotas Žala, who was leading the race, stopped to help his rival instead of chasing victory.

By sacrificing valuable time, Žala showed that sportsmanship, respect and humanity can matter more than winning. 🏁🤝

31st European Fair Play Congress Announced

The European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) has officially announced the 31st European Fair Play Congress, which will take place on 4 December 2026 at SKEMA Business School – Grand Paris Campus, Paris.
Held under the theme “Sport, the Spirit of Humanity: Protecting the Sport Person,” the Congress will bring together international experts to discuss safeguarding, fair play, clean sport and the future of sport through a series of keynote speeches, presentations and panel discussions.
