๐ Our first ๐๐ฆ๐ฃ๐+ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ is now out on the topic of "Space, Cyber and Defence: Navigating interdisciplinary challenges"!
The space-cyber-defence nexus has long been over-looked in the political science literature. With this in mind, ESPI called for original contributions providing analysis of issues at the intersection of space, cybersecurity and defence and collated expert inputs to make this expertise easily available to the European space community and beyond.
Contributions to this report include:
โก โOperational, legal, political and strategic implications of using commercial satellites in warโ by Beatrice Hainaut
โก โTowards more robust European space networks after the Ukrainian war experienceโ by Nicolรฒ Boschetti, Ioannis Nikas, Dimitrios Serpanos and Gregory Falco, LEED AP
โก โThe French approach to space cybersecurityโ by Paul Wohrer and Xavier Pasco
โก โThe Italian approach facing the evolving cyber threat to space systemsโ by Giancarlo La Rocca
โก โThe intersection of space and cybersecurity in UK defence policy โ Policy objective and strategic approachโ by Christoph Beischl

Recognizing the complexity of space policy, this new format provides comprehensive reports that collate expert, multidisciplinary contributions on specific topics. Serving as a focal point, ESPI will direct research questions, identify synergies between actors, facilitate exchange, and refine final policy recommendations.
To this end, ESPI+:
โ
Leverages multidisciplinary expertise by collating insights from a diverse range of actors.
โ
Fosters knowledge-driven collaboration by encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing among experts.
โ
Enables enhanced clarity and accessibility by streamlining these insights into one coherent report.
