We are delighted to welcome Elena Golodiaevskaia to the Vienna Opera Festival 2026 as a Stage Director.

Elena brings a wealth of artistic experience, creativity, and dedication to the operatic stage. Throughout the summer, she will work closely with our international cast and creative teams, helping bring our productions to life through thoughtful storytelling and compelling stagecraft.

We are honored to have her as part of this year's festival and look forward to an inspiring season of artistic collaboration in Vienna.

Meet Tim Claydon – Main Stage Director, Vienna Opera Academy 2026

We are delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed stage director and choreographer Tim Claydon to the Vienna Opera Academy.

Tim has collaborated with some of the world's leading opera companies, including Houston Grand Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Opera North, Garsington Opera, and many others. His work spans productions such as Turandot, La Traviata, Carmen, Parsifal, The Magic Flute, Peter Grimes, and Rusalka.

With a career built on exceptional storytelling, movement direction, and stagecraft, Tim offers aspiring directors a rare opportunity to learn from one of today's most experienced opera practitioners.

As an Assistant Stage Director, you will gain hands-on experience in professional opera production while working directly with international artists and creative teams.
