Die Sustainability Challenge dauert zwei Semester (WS 19/20, SS 20) und beginnt im Oktober 2019. Die Teilnahme ist an einem von zwei Tracks möglich: Service Learning oder Start-up. Beim Service Learning arbeiten Studierende zusammen mit Unternehmen (z.B. Saint Gobain ISOVER, Grüne Erde, Bank Austria, BMNT) an konkreten Nachhaltigkeitsprojekten. Im Start-up Track haben Studierende die Möglichkeit ihre eigene nachhaltige Unternehmensidee zu verwirklichen. Den theoretischen Input dazu liefern die vier teilnehmenden Universitäten: In Einheiten an WU, BOKU, TU und Uni Wien beschäftigen sich Lehrende aller Universitäten mit Fragen zu ökologischer Ökonomie, Klimawandel, nachhaltigem Bauen und sozial-ökologischen Politiken.
